Family-style Basque meals are served daily at the Winnemucca Hotel & Bar, hosted by Michael Lynne Olana in this 2008 photograph. Bridge Street, where the hotel was built in 1863, is part of “Upper Town,” the commercial hub of the original Humboldt River settlement of Winnemucca.

My husband’s great grandfather was David Giroux. His grandmother, Alma Giroux Sellars, was David’s daughter. We have what may be one of the last pieces of the hotels history, a beautiful cabinet. I am not sure what it was used for in the hotel as it has glass doors and wood drawers as well as a mirrored back with small shelves built on each side of the mirror. Alma brought the cabinet with her when she moved to Exeter CA. Now that the hotel is gone, it seems even more precious than before

This place has many memories. This is where someone said hey Senator, they were calling my father that due to his love about politics. James Anderson

This place is no more. It shut down several years ago. The entire back part of the building has been demolished.
