Incandescent Rocks

Incandescent Rocks

The Incandescent Rocks ACEC (Area of Critical Environmental Concern) features a myriad of banded multi-colored rock formations that extend throughout the southern portion of the Tule Peak area. The main trail, which ends at the seemingly insurmountable 30’ rock face of a dry waterfall, is accessed from Grass Valley Road, a left turn off Pyramid Highway about six miles past its intersection with Winnemucca Ranch Road. Follow Grass Valley Road until it ends, then turn left onto the (4X4) dirt road for about a mile, until you see the parking area for the entrance to the trail on your right.
